Teak staves are used to construct the body of this beautiful Egyptian oud. The soundboard is solid spruce. The decorations can vary from those photographed; they may include 3 wooden rosette holes outlined with mother of pearl and a small diamond shape of inlay at the base of the neck. This well made oud, with stave construction of Romanian beach wood and bracing under the soundboard, is very simple in decorations. The three oval sound holes are rimed in plain wood inlays, and the soundboard is un-finished for the best sound resonance. There are twelve ebony pegs and twelve strings in six courses of two each (two nylon, four nylon wound and six metal (bronze) wound. The bridge is free floating. The nut to bridge measures approximately 25 inches. The classic teardrop shaped body has a faux wood grain finished in a rich deep mahogany brown color.
